Willie Ray Fendley (W.R.) – age 93 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at Parkwest Hospital on February 7, 2010. W.R. was the last living of 9 children of Archie and Clara Deas Fendley. He was born in Coffeeville, Alabama on August 23, 1916. He was a successful salesman for several companies, working for many years as a leading salesman for American Family Life Insurance Company (AFLAC). He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Bearden. He was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Moore Fendley, his son William Ray Fendley, his parents and his eight siblings. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Kay Delon Fendley (Charlottesville, VA), his sons and their spouses, Archie and Susan, Larry and Kathy and his son Donald all of Knoxville. He is also survived by his grandchildren and spouses Howell and Leslie Fendley (Charlottesville, VA), Scott Fendley and fiancée` Amy Owens, Hunter and Suzanne Fendley, (Charlottesville, VA), Andy Fendley, Katie and JC Neely and Emily and Andrew Jenkins, all of Knoxville; his seven great-grandchildren Ella and Walker Fendley, (Charlottesville, VA), Christian Alderman, Neyland Fendley, Davis and Annie Neely and Wesley Jenkins all of Knoxville, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Highland West Funeral Home, with the services to follow at 7:30 conducted by Rev. Archie Fendley. Entombment services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Highland West Mausoleum.
